Dr Michael Ezeanochie is a member of the Reproductive Health/Ethnopharmacology Research Group (RHERG), UNIBEN. He is a Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist and an expert in Reproductive Health. He is currently a Consultant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Benin Teaching Hospital and an Adjunct Lecturer in the same department at the University of Benin. He has a Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and studied Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Benin as a National Merit Award Winner of the Shell Nigeria University Scholarship Award. He also received the overall Best Graduating Student Prize in His Senior Secondary School Certificate examination at Lumen Christi International High School (http://lumenchristischool-uromi.org/).
He has several research publications in International and local Journals ( https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Michael_Ezeanochie/publications). His areas of research interest are Maternal Health, Gynaecological Oncology, Obstetric Fistula and Reproductive Health issues. His research work received an ‘Honorary Mention’ in the ‘John J. Sciarra IJGO Prize Paper Award for 2009  in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics published by Elsevier (https://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/handle/2027.42/135207/ijgo185.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y). In 2013, He won a Travelling Fellowship Award from the International Gynaecological Cancer Society in 2013 for Gynae-oncology training at the University College London Hospitals, United Kingdom. In 2017, He also won a World Bank sponsored competitive internship slot at the School of Public Health, Havard University, Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America.
